Jed Wines, Mendoza harvest 2013.
The Californian Summer
Jed has well and truly arrived in California and it seems to be fairly popular with the locals. From the mountains of the Eastern Sierras to the shores of the Pacific in Santa Monica you should be able to find a glass or two nearby. Currently you can see us on the list at Tom Colicchio’s Craft in LA, Bar Covell and Barbrix in Silver Lake, plus the Red Door in San Diego to name just a few.

Jed Arrives in the Hollywood Hills
Blair and Chelsea introducing Jed to a select lucky few. Paired with good tunes (local songwriter), good food (Argentine of course) and great views the evening couldn’t have gone better. Big thanks to Wendy, Gary and Larry

Introducing Torrontes
If you have enjoyed a Sav Blanc in the past a taste tester of this awesome little grape is well worth a go. With incredible aromatics and a steely structure Torrontes is virtually custom made for the Australian summer: it’s refreshing, flavourful and versatile with a wide range of seafoods and asian inspired dishes.

High Altitude Viticulture
Intense UV light during the day allows early ripening of phenolic compounds resulting in a fine and silky tannin structure.
Very cold nights limits the hours per day that the vine is active resulting in a greater retention of natural acidity.
Combined these factors allow winemakers to pick their fruit when the grape skins are physiologically ripe and its juice has just the right balance between its acid and sugar!

New Placements and New Places
The first half of 2012 has been a busy one with new Melbourne placements including the legendary Gertrude St Enoteca and the iconic City Wine Shop. Torrontes continues to be a big hit - now by the glass in Sydney’s Rockpool Bar and Grill, (this grape seems to be custom made for Australian cuisine) and over the Pacific our long awaited first pallet has arrived in San Francisco! Amongst all this, we have converted this blog space into something that will be hopefully more interactive, informative and fun. Please send any questions or comments to us without hesitation as we are primarily winemakers not bloggers and this is all a new game!

Each year, Jed’s winemaking team travel to the Uco Valley in Argentina to produce wines that express the unique characters of this acclaimed region.
